Banglewood 2011

Well it has been a few days since Bang on a Can Festival 2011 has ended but there is still a part of me that hasn't adjusted to that fact. The statement work hard/play hard was so true for me when I was up in North Adams, MA for 3 weeks. I learned a lot, I played a lot of cello, I met A LOT of great people, laughed a lot, hung out at the Mohawk (a bar) lots n lots (like whoa), was in a perpetual zombie state from lack of sleep, and my ears are still ringing from all the great pieces of music I heard while I was up there.

No question this was a totally different experience from SICPP, I mean one can't even compare the two because they are so different. Perhaps one of the key differences is that you feel like one big Banglewood family. We all know families have their quirks, but we all went through them together. Ok cheesy sentence done~ but I feel really fortunate that I got to be part of such an awesome experience.

Im eating lots of spicy food now that Im home with the folks to make up for the lack of spicy food up there. Dont get me wrong the camp food (as far as camp food goes) was pretty great, but man kimchi and rice never tasted so good. Oh and Im ok if I dont see that many eighth notes clumped together, going that fast, again anytime soon. Sorry KT I promise I wasn't glaring! It was a look of "save me from this torture". :) Oh and I loved my roommie but I sure dont miss her 7am cricket-chirping iphone alarm.... (no she would keep sleeping usually)
